LazyLvndr is an amalgamation of the creative, the sweet, the pensive, and the sociocultural that is always hibernating at the base of my being and is then outpoured through food. Since childhood, food has always been my chosen medium to dream and reminisce. My Salvadoran heritage, a never ending search for spice combinations, as well as my personal experiences growing up in South Central Los Angeles inform much of my approach towards my flavor imagery. It is in the process of measuring, cracking, stirring, pouring–and mistake making most importantly–where I’m reminded that I’m capturing bits of my past and present selves. Sometimes, words fall short of capturing all that we have to say. Sometimes, baking a cake is enough.
My hope with LazyLvndr is to share this personal narrative with you through the practice of baking. Laying beyond this desire is also my wish that you feel inspired to create moments of sweet stillness long after you’ve come across my recipes. Moments that turn into cherished memories you’re able to recall with ease indelibly. I hope you return to these moments and these moments return to you again, again, and again.
